This Saturday, the Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery Cafe will be holding its first annual children’s Easter Egg Hunt. The hunt will begin at 11am on the lawn outside of the Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery and will continue until all of the eggs are found. After the egg hunt is over, volunteers from Wright College will be offering free face painting and other fun activities. The Easter Bunny and our mascot, Eli Slice, will also be making an appearance to greet the children. There’s more fun in store for parents, too! The retail store will be holding a special “One-Day Only” Easter Sale with great deals and free samples across the store. The outside grill will also be offering lunch specials from 11am-2pm. We hope the Eli’s Easter Egg Hunt becomes a tradition with your family! For more information on the event, click here. Parents of children participating in the event must sign-in and sign a liability release before their children can participate.
This has been a big week for Eli’s Cheesecake! Monday night, Eli’s set sail with the Columbia Yacht Club for their annual Chowdah Fest. The event featured 15 chefs competing to be crowned Chicago’s best chowder, with all proceeds benefiting the Sea Scouts of Chicago. Eli’s provided some bite-sized desserts that were as rich and creamy and the chowder itself. On Tuesday night, we celebrated the grand opening of the Chicago Sports Museum and Harry Caray’s 7th Inning Stretch. Chicago Bears wide-receiver Brandon Marshall and former NBA star Ron Harper came hungry and Eli’s knocked it out the ballpark with a giant cheesecake big enough to satisfy any athlete’s appetite. The big events didn’t end there. On Wednesday, Eli’s made a special delivery at an exclusive fundraising event for the president himself, Barack Obama. We supplied dessert for the event and sent the president off with a little treat for the flight back to Washington D.C. Check out some of the photos from the events below and keep coming back weekly for all the latest and greatest happenings at Eli’s Cheesecake.
Next week, Eli’s will be on hand to celebrate the grand opening of the Chicago Sports Museum in Chicago’s Water Tower Place. The museum offers visitors an interactive experience through the world of Chicago sports. They can compare their skills to those of sports legends including NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen and Cubs superstar Kerry Wood. There’s even an interactive trivia game to test visitors’ sports knowledge. After all the fun in the museum, guests can sit for lunch at Harry Caray’s 7th Inning Stretch. This upscale sports bar is a foodie paradise for sports fans. Eli’s Cheesecake will be baking up an extra-large cheesecake for the occasion. For more information on the museum and the restaurant, click here.
Every year around this time, the Columbia Yacht Club of Chicago fills up an anchored ship and holds a competition to find the best chowder in the Midwest. Eli’s Cheesecake is a proud sponsor of the event and will be offering attendees a proper end to their meal with our famous cheesecake. All proceeds from the event go toward youth sailing programs in the city. For more information on the event or to buy tickets, click here. We hope to see you in a couple weeks!
This past weekend, Eli’s attended two different events in Chicago. First, Eli’s attended a Good Food Festival called Localicious at the UIC Pavilion. The event celebrated local farmers who grow our food and the local chefs that transform it into something amazing. Eli’s was on-hand to offer our bite-size cuties to those in attendance. Eli’s second stop was at the opening night of the Chicago Flower and Garden Show to offer some samples of our Honey Mediterranean Cheesecake. Bob Mariano, the owner of Mariano’s grocery stores, stopped by for a slice and took a picture with the Eli’s Cheesecake crew. If you missed the Chicago Flower and Garden Show this weekend, you still have plenty of time to stop in and see everything the show has to offer. Eli’s Cheesecake’s own Laurel Boger will be conducting a cooking demo this Thursday, March 20th at 6:30pm, featuring our ricotta cheesecake. For more information on the show, or to purchase tickets, click here.
Next Friday, Eli’s will be at the opening night of the Chicago Flower and Garden Show at Navy Pier. The event, entitled Evening in Bloom, gives guests a first-look at the show before it opens to the public the following day.
