Continuing a tradition that dates back over a fourteen years ago, the Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery Cafe hosted Scott Hamilton and top skaters in the world who performed at the Superstars on Ice Show at the Skokie Skatium. Originating at Eli’s the Place for Steak, the late night supper moved to the Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery Cafe after Eli’s The Place for Steak was forced to close.

Eli’s Cheesecake Big Slice Makes a Special Appearance at the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe this Sunday, March 21 at 1pm
Eli’s Cheesecake Big Slice will help celebrate Spring (wouldn’t think it today!) at the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe with a special appearance at 1pm this Sunday, March 21 from 1pm to 2pm. Samples of Eli’s Cheesecake and Freshly Baked Eli’s Cookies will be served with our compliments. Eli’s Big Slice will return to the Eli’s Bakery Cafe for our In Store Dock Sale next Saturday, March 27th.
Santa Claus Makes a Early Visit to the Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery Cafe–Complimentary Hot Chocolate & Eli’s Cheesecake Sampling Bar this weekend
Just as the snow arrived in Chicago on Friday, December 18th, Santa Claus made a surprise appearance at the Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery Cafe. He came to shop for his upcoming Christmas Eve tour and enjoyed the cheer and hospitality of Eli’s. Santa is on the road but the hospitality continues with complimentary hot chocolate, Eli’s Cheesecake Samples and yes, just baked chocolate chip cookies.
One of the legacies of Chicago’s efforts to secure the 2016 Olympics was the formation of of World Sport Chicago which continues to educate and promote sports in Chicago. This Sunday, November 15th, World Sport Chicago in alliance with USA Wrestling presents the third annual Chicago Cup. This year Team USA will challenge the #1 team in the world, Russia.

Tours du Jour of Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois makes it annual shopping visit to the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe
We welcome shopping tours and groups to the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe throughout the year but it is always a little more festive and fun during the holiday season.
Our holiday season for groups starts on the Saturday before our Thanksgiving Dock Sale & the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival when the Tours du Jour of Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois visits us in the morning for coffee, samples and shopping before going on to Woodfield Shopping Mall.
Our thanks to Sally Spudich for her leadership in organizing the visit by Tours du Jour of Highland Community College to the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe. This year we were delighted that Sally’s daughter and two grand daughters accompanied her to Eli’s.
Illinois is fortunate to have such a great network of community colleges, including our neighbor, Wright College, as well as Highland Community College in Freeport, that offer life long learning, personal development and recreation to their local community.

Our founder, Eli M. Schulman, was very proud of his service to our country during World War II in the Army Air Corp. As evidenced by the photos below, the Army Air Corp was a place for Eli to develop his skills with Big Cakes as well as his leadership and entrepreneurial skills as a Staff Sergeant.
We are celebrating Veteran’s Day this week by offering a free slice of Eli’s Cheesecake and Coffee for veteran’s and active duty soldier’s from Tuesday, November 10th through Sunday, November 15th.
In keeping with Eli’s theme of supporting the troops during World War II, we will also be initiating a program so all active duty military personnel in uniform will receive a free slice of Eli’s Cheesecake and Coffee at all times.

Last night (3-27-09) we welcomed some of the area’s finest culinary schools and other members of the food community to the Eli’s Cheesecake Company Bakery to enjoy hors d’oervres prepared by some of the finest culinary students in the Chicagoland. We had a really great turn out with many people from varying interest areas. We were very thankful to have Wayne Johnson as our Emcee of the evening. The evening was full of wonderful food and great conversation among all who attended. Thanks to everyone that attended and we look forward to seeing you all next year!
