Eli’s/Wright College’s Farmer’s Market to host Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences Graduation and the Illinois Dept. of Agriculture
Eli’s Cheesecake and Wright College were happy to host the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences’ graduation. We were also paid a special visit from the Illinois Department of Agriculture. They are in the process of launching a new product logo and mission, “Buy Illinois”. Eli’s was one of five Illinois-based businesses asked to host a launch party for the new logo. Our farmer’s market was also visited by Nissan and the new Nissan Leaf.
For National Cheesecake Day 2012, Eli’s was honored by a visit from Megan Ervin, Miss Illinois! She celebrated by putting her culinary skills to the test and decorating her own Eli’s Cheesecake with the help of Eli’s pastry chefs.
In honor of Megan’s great work and commitment to helping our community, Eli’s announced that a portion of all proceeds of all sales made on National Cheesecake Day would be donated to Children’s Miracle Network.
Eli’s was also proud to present a $1,000 donation to Children’s Miracle Network on Megan’s behalf.
Megan generously donated her time to help the Eli’s team and the Eli’s slice mascot hand out over 1,000 FREE cheesecake slices around Chicago to celebrate National Cheesecake Day. They rode around town in the Cheesecake Mobile, a 1928 Ford delivery truck modified to store a truckload of cheesecake slices! The group stopped at important landmarks in Chicago like the Seneca Park/Eli Schulman Playground (located across from the new Children’s Memorial Hospital), and the Prudential Building. The Eli’s team also posted surprise stops on Twitter and Facebook so our fans could get in on the fun and enjoy a free slice of Eli’s.
Fans who aren’t lucky enough to live in Chicago were able to enjoy free shipping on a different delicious flavor each hour on elicheesecake.com.

Yesterday, Jessica from the blog “What a Novel Thought”, wrote about her recent trip to visit her family in Chicago, which according to her family’s tradition includes a stop at The Taste of Chicago, specifically Eli’s Cheesecake Booth. She wrote about how “it was worth the heat and crowds and the loooong walking to go to the Taste and indulge in a slice of fabulously decadent cheesecake”. Her son finally had his first slice of Eli’s at the Taste, and here at Eli’s we couldn’t be more proud!
