Opening of the Illinois Center for Urban Agricultural Education at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences is Highlighted in Illinois Ag Ed

All of us at Eli’s Cheesecake are very proud of our long time support and partnership with the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences. A major step in the development of the programs at the school was the opening of the Illinois Center for Urban Agricultural Education at CHSAS, a program of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and headed by Corey Flournoy.

We were delighted to see the opening of the Center profiled in Illinois Ag Ed, a publication of the College of Agriculture, Consumer & Environmental Sciences.

Eli’s Executive Pastry Chefs Attended the Savor Event

Last night, Eli’s Cheesecake Executive Pastry Chefs, Diana Moles and Laurel Boger, presented an Eli’s Wildflower Honey Cheesecake at the Savor, an Evening of Magnificent Pairings event at the Bloomingdale’s Home & Furniture Store at Medinah Temple in Chicago as a participant of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association (GNMAA).  The Wildflower Honey Cheesecake is a ricotta cheesecake sweetened with raw wildflower honey, topped with mascarpone cheese, crunchy cardamom-scented honey almonds and baked on an all-butter shortbread cookie crust. The honey used is produced by student beekeepers from the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences(CHSAS), a college preparatory high school that provides opportunities for diverse students from across the city to study agriculture.  Eli’s is a proud sponsor of CHSAS.  For more information: http://www.gnmaa.com/images/uploads/documents/Email_Savor_InviteOct17.pdf

Eli’s Cheesecake World is 16 years old!

Yesterday, October 15th, Eli’s celebrated World Food Day! It was 16 years ago that we had the opening ceremony for Eli’s Cheesecake World. Our people and family were joined by Illinois Governor Edgar, Chicago Mayor Daley, Cook County Board President John Stroger and  Alderman Tom Allen for the cutting of ceremonial giant Eli’s Cheesecake opening this new facility in the City of Chicago. At that time we employed about 100 people; today over 240 people. Back then we produced the equivalent of about 4,000 Eli’s Cheesecake’s a day; today over 18,000! Today we are proud to continue to support Feeding America and the Greater Chicago Food Depository with donations that will reach over 3.5 million people this year.
