Taste of Chicago 2013 Opening Day!

Hard to Believe! It was July 4th 1980 that Eli’s Cheesecake made its public debut at the first Taste of Chicago. 33 years later we are honored to be the only vendor still in the Taste that was there that first day!

Join us at 11am today (Wednesday, July 10th) at Buckingham Fountain as we celebrate the 33rd Birthday of Eli’s Cheesecake & the Taste of Chicago with our 1,000 lb. Birthday Cake free to all and then join us during the five days of Taste at the Eli’s Cheesecake Booth near the corner of Jackson & Columbus.

Thank You Bill Zwecker in the Chicago Sun Times for Celebrating the 33rd Birthday of Eli’s Cheesecake & The Taste of Chicago

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

It will be a sweet treat at Buckingham Fountain at 11 am. Wednesday as Eli’s Cheesecake serves up a 1,000-pound cheesecake celebrating both the 33rd birthday of Taste of Chicago and Eli’s being the only original vendor still participating in the Taste. The event will feature a Cirque Shanghai performance, “Happy Birthday” sung by the Australian Bee Gees troupe and celebrity cake-cutter Charlie Barnett of “Chicago Fire.” The humongous pile of ingredients for the cake includes 450 pounds of cream cheese, 70 pounds of sugar, 612 eggs and 125 pounds of buttercream icing.
