We at Eli’s are excited to say that we have successfully celebrated another National Cheesecake Day! This year we brought the celebration around the city of Chicago as well as keeping the fun going at our main location on the North West side.

At our home base, we hosted celebrations during our weekly Farmer’s Market. Guests were treated to free slices of our famous cheesecake, with new flavors being samples hourly. We also hosted an Artisan Supplier Fair, featuring some of our esteemed suppliers such as Guitrad, Blommer’s, Phoenix Bean, Nielsen Massey, Stahlbush Island Farms, and the Chicago High School for the Agricultural Sciences. We were treated to a dance performance from After School Matters.

At our O’Hare location at United Terminal B, we had some of our associates handing out free slices of Original Plain and Chocolate Chip Cheesecake. We also brought down a prize wheel so travelers could try their luck for a chance to win a 9” inch cheesecake along with some other fun prizes! We also hosted another demo at Plum Market from 4 to 7.

Mr. Slice, our beloved mascot, had a pretty exciting day as well. He and some of our associates took the Cheesecake mobile out for a spin to give out cheesecake to fans across the city. He made stops at the Jefferson Park Blue Line Station, NBC Tower, Seneca Park and Lurie’s Children’s Hospital. Mr. Slice also did meet and greets with some lucky fans at each location.

National Cheesecake Day is very dear to our company. It celebrates the dessert that started the history and family that is the Eli’s Cheesecake Company. Elana Schulman, daughter of our President Marc Schulman, said it best in a blog post written in honor of National Cheesecake Day:

“There are delicious cheesecakes all over the world, but there’s something special about one that was born from your grandfather’s imagination, your mom and dad’s constant hard work and dedication, and the incredible team at Eli’s that makes each cake the best cake.” Read more here: http://munchies.vice.com/articles/you-need-a-forklift-to-pick-up-my-familys-1500-pound-cheesecake

National Cheesecake Day was a lot of fun for all of us here at Eli’s, but the fun isn’t stopping here. Join us this weekend for the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival, a two day long event with food, fun and cheesecake for the entire family. We hope to see you there!
