AGG2015Last night, October 27, Eli’s Cheesecake was invited to speak at the Airports Go Green Conference. The Airports Going Green Conference is the industry’s leading sustainability forum, bringing together aviation sustainability leaders, experts, and innovators from around the world. Session topics include airport, tenant, and stakeholder collaboration strategies; innovations in renewable energy and alternative fuels; waste and recycling initiatives; emerging technologies; and much more.

Erik Lapinski, Eli’s Production Planning and Scheduling Manager, presented at the Sustainable Foods Happy Hour last night along with Goose Island, Lagunitas, HMS Host, and other leaders in sustainable foods. Erik’s presentation focused on Eli’s Cheesecake’s initiatives at reducing waste, recycling, and our involvement in the community.  The spotlight of the presentation was our partnership with the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences (CHSAS), who provide us with the honey we use in our Honey Mediterranean Cheesecake. The CHSAS students harvest the honey from their bee hives on campus, and then bottle it to ship to our bakery where we use it in our cheesecakes and desserts.
