Project Help (Helping Ease Local Poverty) was founded by leading Chicago Real Estate Broker, Jacqueline Hayes, as a way to provide 130 meals every Wednesday evening to disadvantaged and homeless individuals in the North Michigan Avenue District. In addition to being served a nutritious meal, guests can also visit with doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers and sign up for drug rehabilitation, job training programs, homeless shelters and literacy tutoring.

Founded in November of 1999, Eli’s the Place for Steak provided the first dinner that was held at the Catholic Charities Center on North LaSalle Street. In honor of the 10th Anniversary of HELP, Eli’s Cheesecake provided dinner and dessert on Wednesday, November 11, 2009.

Our thanks to Andi, Jennie, Korey, Jolene, Antonio, Jeff and Kathy for donating their time to serve members of our community in need.

No dinner created by Eli’s  would be complete without a slice of Eli’s Cheesecake. A very nice touch was the assistance by local students who escorted the guests back to their table with dessert.
