If you can’t enjoy Eli’s Cheesecake in Washington DC on January 20th, “Ride Your Bike to Work” in Chicago and enjoy a slice at the Daley Plaza

Some people think it is a coincidence that Winter Bike to Work Day is on Inauguration Day.

“What is more patriotic that riding your bicycle,” said Rob Sadowsky, Active Trans executive director.

Come by Daley Plaza (Dearborn and Washington) 6:30 to 9 a.m. Jan. 20 to warm yourself up with coffee and hot cocoa before heading to work.

Each year we celebrate you — the committed — and remember the coldest day in Chicago history — Jan. 20, 1985, when the official temperature at O’Hare International Airport was 27 degrees below zero with 36 mph wind gusts, producing wind chills as low as 93 degrees below zero.

Let’s hope it doesn’t get that chilly, but even if it does, we will be out there celebrating America with you.
