Welcome to the first entry in our Daily Blog. There is always so much going
on at Eli’s Cheesecake–new products, big cakes and community events, that we
wanted a way to let you know what was going on a current basis. These first
couple of weeks in June are big for graduations. For me, two of our daughters
graduated-one for 8th grade and one from high school.
This week we hosted graduates at Eli’s Cheesecake World from my ala mater,
the University of Denver, who attended the Graduate Business School. They were
in Chicago to visit alumni and local businesses as part of their inaugural
Career Trek. They enjoyed lunch at Eli’s followed by a tour and lots of Eli’s
On Friday, I get to be part of the graduation ceremony at the Chicago High
School for Agriculture Sciences, which is the only public high school in Chicago
located on a farm on the far southwest side of the City of Chicago. The
graduation speaker is Kathy Bertini, the former UN Director of the World Hunger
Program and the winner of the World Food Prize. On Saturday, I will be the
commencement speaker at Kendall College, a four year university currently
located in Evanston, that is moving its campus to Goose Island in Chicago.
Kendall is well known for its culinary program and other degree programs.
