Eli’s has been a long time supporter of Friends of the Parks and the Earth Day Celebration. When we undertook the campaign to rebuild Seneca Park and create the Eli M. Schulman Playground, it was Friends of the Parks that provided us with technical experience to complete the project. Since that completion date in 1990, we have worked with Friends of the Parks to promote the enhancement and maintenance of playlots on a city-wide basis. For a number of years, we sponsored a Playlot Spruce-Up Day, which has now been rolled up into Earth Day.

On Saturday, April 23rd. Friends of the Parks helped organize community clean-ups throughout the City followed by an Earth Day Celebration at the Humboldt Park Boat House.

Eli’s will have its own Playground Spruce-Up Celebration on Saturday, May 7th, 2005, when we come together for the morning to clean and prepare Seneca Park and the Eli M. Schulman Playground for the season.

Congrats to Marta Reyes of Gallistel Branch School for her winning T-shirt Entry
