Plan a Group Visit
With tour groups in mind, The Field Museum has created a variety of ways for your group to enjoy Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs. We have created themed lunches, docent presentations, and itineraries to enhance your “Tut in Chicago” experience. Groups of 15 or more qualify for discounts when they book their visit in advance. Seniors 65 or over receive further discounts.
Suggested Group Itineraries may include:
A personalized, docent-led presentation on Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs gives your group a behind-the-scenes perspective of the exhibition. Hear the historical background and insider tips on what not to miss in the exhibition. Or consider a fascinating audio tour narrated by Omar Sharif.
After the Museum closes, enjoy a private reception and exhibition viewing before heading to the theater or other evening events. The exhibition is open exclusively for your group as you enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in a private Museum setting.
Tut in Chicago Immersion
In collaboration with our partners in the tourism industry, we are pleased to suggest a “Tut in Chicago” Immersion itinerary. Groups selecting ideas from this exciting itinerary will sample the fascinating Egyptian-inspired history of Chicago featuring hidden treasures and unique experiences similar to the ones you’ll experience as you enjoy Pompeii: Stories from an Eruption.
Combine your visit to the Tut exhibition with a tour of a local perfumery, where your group will learn first hand about ancient oils and their Egyptian origins. Discover Egyptian inspired architecture on a walking tour (or with a step-on guide). Head over to Eli’s Cheesecake for the “King Tut Strut Bakery Tour” and lunch or discover the “Food, Fragrance and Fashion” program at Marshall Fields. End your day in style. Lawry’s The Prime Rib will treat you like royalty while you dine on a traditional Egyptian meal of hummus, nile perch and other entrée selections followed by a dessert fit for a king.
