Daley Wagers Cheesecake For Rush Win

Orlando Mayor Offers Up Oranges

(STNG) CHICAGO Mayor Richard M. Daley has wagered Chicago cheesecakes against Florida oranges that the Chicago Rush will win ArenaBowl XX on Sunday in Las Vegas, according to a release.

The city’s Arena Football team will play for the title against the Orlando Predators, and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said he would send some Florida sunshine, in the form of oranges, to Chicago if his team falls, the release from the Mayor’s Office of Special Events said.

Daley answered the challenge by offering up Eli’s Cheesecake, the city’s noted dessert, which was created by Eli Schulman and made its debut at the Taste of Chicago, according to the release.

“We were pretty successful last fall with the White Sox, so I’m hoping to enjoy a glass of fresh orange juice soon,” Daley said in the release.
