Eli’s Cheesecake Proud to Be Part of the Launch of the 2007 Chicago Birthday Calendar

It was great pleasure to provide birthday cake for the launch by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs of the new 2007 calendar featuring the birthdays of 600 people who have contributed to Chicago’s rich history. We
are particularly honored that Eli’s birthday on January 22nd is highlighted with that of George Balanchine (America’s foremost choreorgapher of dance), Sam Cooke (the “King of Soul”) and Samuel Popeil (the great inventor).

The 2007 Chicago Birthday Calendar was created by Chicago artist Barbara Koenen and City Cultural Historian Tim Samuelson. The calendar includes Chicago idiosyncrasies inspired by Samuelson’s knowledge of Chicago.

Eli’s Recognized for its contribution to empowering people with disabilities on the DHS/DRC 2005 Calendar

We are very proud of ou partnership with the Illinois Department of Human
Services and its Division of Rehabilitation Services. Tom Minta, the Manager of
the DRS Employment Unit, has been a wonderful partner and advocate for Eli’s and
for the great people that he has helped us hire.

We were therefore really honored when DHS/DRS highlighted our parternship on
its 2005 Calendar and Annual Report. How wonderful it is for other employers to
learn how hiring the disabled is good business and good for the company spirit.
