The month of July has many reasons for celebration. Eli’s Cheesecake and the Taste of Chicago is celebrating its’ 32nd Anniversary, due to Eli’s Cheesecake being at the Taste every year since its opening in 1980. We would also like to mention a Happy 175th Birthday to the City of Chicago.

Eli’s will introduce Eli’s Single Serve Squared, pre-packaged square shaped desserts, 3″ minis in 6 varieties and new Red Velvet Cheesecake and Fruit Sampler Cheesecake in the Chi-Town Collection.

Eli’s Cheesecake Delighted to Participate in the 2012 National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago
We were delighted when Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a long time Eli’s Fan, visited our Booth after he cut the ribbon to open the 2012 National Restaurant Association Show. Above Eli’s Executive Pastry Chef Laurel Boger and Eli’s President Marc Schulman present the Mayor with a replica of the Giant Cheesecake that Eli’s will be creating for the Taste of Chicago.
This is the 27th consecutive year that Eli’s Cheesecake has been in the National Restaurant Association. We are very grateful for the outstanding work by the Eli’s Sales, Marketing and Research & Development Team in their work preparing for the Show.

Eli’s Cheesecake Named Winner of the Concordia University Chicago President’s Corporate Neighbor Award
Concordia University Chicago is pleased to announce that The Eli’s Cheesecake Company will receive the President’s Corporate Neighbor Award through the University’s 2012 Community Awards for Excellence in Learning and Leadership program, which also will honor Federico d’Escoto and Rick Tanksley of Oak Park..
Established in 2003, the Community Awards for Excellence recognize extraordinary contributions by individuals and organizations in Chicago’s suburbs to community leadership, education and humanitarianism.

The Eli’s Cheesecake Company is recipient of the President’s Corporate Neighbor Award for its exceptional community leadership and outreach, most notably its educational and community partnerships. Founded by Eli Schulman, the organization now produces more than 20,000 cheesecakes daily. Currently, Marc S. Schulman is president of the company, which has been a Chicago staple for decades.
Eli’s is committed to supporting the Chicago Public Schools, with Marc Schulman as a long time supporter of the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences (CHSAS) and is co-chair of its Business Advisory Board. This past summer, Wright College and Eli’s jointly sponsored a Summer Sustainable Agriculture Program for students of CHSAS.
Eli’s and Wright College maintain educational and community partnerships that includes a series of classes for Eli’s associates in areas including food safety and business writing. The organizations also jointing sponsor a weekly farmer’s market during the summer.

All of us at Eli’s Cheesecake were delighted to be a part of the on air celebration for the last day of Meteorologist Ginger Zee on NBC Chicago. Ginger is moving to New York City with a major announcement scheduled on Monday. In her 5 years at NBC Chicago, Ginger has made a great contribution to the community and to the station. Zee was feted on air on Saturday, October 8th by anchors Kim Vatis, Chicago Native Stefan Holt and new weatheperson Cheryl Scott.

It is a very special summer when the Big Top of Cirque Du Soleil comes to Chicago. On Wednesday, June 29th, Eli’s Cheesecake was part of the welcoming celebration as Ovo opened in the lot of the United Center. Eli’s Executive Pastry Chef Laurel Boger and Team created a themed cake to welcome the guests to opening night.
Representing Eli’s at the opening night were Korey Grace, Kaitlin Matthews, Laurel Boger, Jolene Worthington and Marc Schulman.
Korey Grace and Laurel Boger were very busy at intermission passing out complimentary Eli’s Dippers customized for the event.
The frozen cheesecake on a stick dipped in chocolate were themed with the colors of Ovo.
Windy City Live debuted on ABC 7 Chicago on Thursday, May 26th in the 9am time slot held by Oprah for so many years. Hosted by former ABC 7 sportscaster, Ryan Chiaverini and former WGN-TV traffic news anchor, Val Warner, the show will be broadcast live each weekday before a studio audience.

Chicago Restaurateur Billy Dec is a regular contributor to Windy City Live. For the first show, Billy was joined by Johnny Galecki, who grew up in Oak Park and is the star of “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS.
