Summer in Chicago is always much more special when it brings a new show of Cirque Du Soleil to town.
Eli’s Cheesecake and Cirque Du Soleil have a long term relationship that dates back to the early Chicago tours of Cirque in the late 1908′s when Cirque was staged on the then vacant land south of North Pier Terminal. For several tours, Cirque allowed us to host a fundraiser that encompassed a dinner and dessert provided by Eli’s at Seneca Park, its Eli M. Schulman Playground and Engine Company 98 of the Chicago Fire Department, followed by a double decker bus ride to North Pier and the Cirque performance under the Big Top. These events were most important to our undraising efforts and there is a bench in the center of the Eli M. Schulman Playground dedicated to Cirque for its support.
This year the United Center parking lot is home to Cirque Du Soleil and its newest production, Corteo, which opened on Friday, July 14th. Eli’s was delighted to be a supporter of the opening night by providing our Eli’s Dippers for the reception following the performance
