The Easter Bunny was busy helping customers at our Easter Dock Sale this past Saturday. Eli’s Dock Sales are one of our oldest traditions that originated when our bakery was located on Dakin Street. Our only retail selling area was a two door freezer and the only way to open up to the public was with a tent—which can get pretty cold in Chicago in December. Our Cafe Co-Manager, Hilda Carillo, remembers well when it was below zero outside and we had a sale in the snow.

Today the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe is open 7 days a week for desserts, lunch and the biggest selection of Eli’s Cheescakes and desserts anywhere. We have Dock Sales (literally on our shipping dock and far warmer than the tent) on the Saturday before Easter, the weekend of the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival, the Saturday before Thanksgiving (also the Saturday of the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival) and the two Saturdays before Christmas. It is an opporunity for our customers to see many of our new products as the dock gives us room to highlight a even bigger selection. Mark down September 17th and 18th for our next Dock Sales in connection with the annual Eli’s Cheesecake Festival.

Our Pastry Chefs are also in the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe during the Easter Week. Here Pastry Chefs Martha and Alicia are doing demonstations of chocolate work and decorating cheesecakes for our customers.

Another great tradition at Eli’s is Family Cookie Baking. This is available for birthday parties and also for families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays and during Easter. Families get assistance for our staff and are able to create a wide range of cookies appropriate for the holiday.
