Congratulations to the Wright College Class of 2006

On Thursday, May 11th, I had the honor to participate in the 71st Annual Wright College Commencement Exercises. As the Chairman of the President’s Advisory Council, I gave greeting from the Wright Community and to recognize the guest speaker, Judge Gerald Bender, as a member of the Advisory Board and as a recipient of the 2006 American Association of Community Colleges Outstanding Alumni Award.

Iwas able to share my pride in being honored by the Student Government Association with a Student Advocate Award. This Award, also given to Professor Julius Nadas, the Chair of the Department of Computer Infomation Systems, is the highest recognition that the most important constituency at Wright, the students, can give.

Under the leadership of the Phi Theta Kappa Chapter, the international honor society of the two year colleges, the Class of ’06 at Wright particpated in Project Graduation, a student initiative to collect food items and books. In recognition of the accomplishments of the Class, Eli’s gave 500 slices to the Irving Park Community Food Bank to support the fight against hunger.
