Cinco De Mayo

Today, Eli’s Cheesecake celebrates Cinco de Mayo at our Bakery Cafe.

At Eli’s Cheesecake, culture matters. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, Eli’s Cheesecake will be selling and sampling some Latin American-inspired sweets and treats. To make our celebratory sweets distinguishable, we have placed Mexican flags next to each of the items. Here’s what you can expect to see and taste:

Our take on this classic Latin American dessert: Tres Leches (3-milk) cake features a Tender genoise soaked in the traditional three milks, layered with rich creamy mousse and topped with a dusting of cocoa create the perfect sweetness and density.

Our mango cheesecake tart features our newest flavor addiction–MANGO! Mangos are strongly tied to Mexico, as many are produced and distributed from there into the United States.

Sharing Eli’s Cheesecake Chicago Holiday Activities

We are in the holiday zone here at Eli’s Cheesecake World, the location of our Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery Cafe, Eli’s Cheesecake Bakery, Eli’s Cheesecake Headquarters and Eli’s Retail Store and Visitor Center.  We want to share a few highlights and events for December here in Chicago.

Each year, one of our most valued holiday traditions is the Eli’s Giving Tree.  Eli’s Associates select of a civic or charitable organization of their choice and personally deliver a supply of Eli’s Cheesecakes and Desserts.  It is our way of spreading joy in our local communities this holiday season.

Eli’s Cheesecake Annual Open House is December 9 from 5pm-7pm featuring a free dessert buffet, DJ spinning holiday music, prize wheel and 20% off everything sale (gift cards excluded).

Eli’s will be closing early on Dec. 11 at 5pm to allow our Eli’s Cheesecake Retail Associates to bring holiday cheer to our friends at the Sunshine Activity Center, a not-for-profit organization serving adults with developmental disabilities.  Our associates will be preparing dinner, playing games and celebrating a visit with Santa.

The holiday dock sale of the year is on Saturday, December 13th  from 9am-1pm.  Popular flavor selections from Original Plain to Red Velvet Cheesecake and dockbuster sale prices make this a destination for your best prices of the season.  The dock sale takes place on our shipping dock at 6701 W. Forest Preserve Drive, Chicago.

Eli’s Gift-A-Palooza sales is December 14-19.  Every shopper who purchases $30 or more receives a free secret Santa gift!  A fun family holiday outing is to visit Eli’s Cheesecake World for DIY (do-it-yourself) Kid’s Holiday Dipper Decorating Dec. 17-19 from 11am-2pm ($5.50 per child).  For more event information, visit or call 773-205-3800.

Eli’s Holiday Dock Sale on Saturday December 15th a Great Success!

It is only twice a year on Magnificent Mile Lights Festival Saturday (the Saturday before Thanksgiving) and the week before Christmas (this year on Saturday December 15th) that we open up our Dock for a Special Holiday Sale. This is a tradition that started on Dakin Street in a Tent and has continued to our Bakery & Cafe on Forest Preserve Drive. You can shop the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe daily with the biggest selection of Eli’s Cheesecake anywhere as well as special deals on our Sweet Imperfections, but there is something special about going on the Dock and seeing the amazing selection.

Thanks to all our families at Eli’s for making Dock Sale Saturday such a great success.  We are delighted to welcome our customers to our home and to highlight the dedication and great work of our people throughout the year.

Eli’s Executive Pastry Chef Laurel Boger demonstrating Eli’s Pumpkin Cheesecake with holiday sauces that you can create at home!

The holidays at Eli’s mean Dock Sales (one today before Thanksgiving and one on Saturday, December 18) and activities in the Eli’s Cheesecake Cafe. Today Eli’s Executive Pastry Chef, Laurel Boger, was joined by Eli’s Sales Manager, Erin Arceo, to do demonstration of Eli’s Pumpkin Cheesecake that can be finished with wonderful sauces that are listed below.

Maple Butter Sauce

1½ cup                   Pure Maple Syrup

½ cup                     Granulated Sugar

½ cup                     Butter

2 tablespoons       Cornstarch

2 tablespoons       water

½ teaspoon           ground Cinnamon (optional)


In a small bowl dissolve cornstarch in water.

In a small saucepan combine sugar, butter and Maple syrup;

bring mixture to a boil stirring continuously;

add starch mixture and bring mixture back to a boil stirring continuously;

boil for 1  minute then remove from heat.

May be served warm or cold

Store refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 week

Burnt Caramel Topping

1 ½ cups                granulated sugar

2 Tbs.                     corn syrup

½ cup                     water

¾ cup                     heavy whipping cream


In a clean heavy saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup and water – bring to a boil

Continue boiling mixture slowly – brushing down the sides of the pan with clean water to prevent sugar crystals forming

Watch pot carefully for when the sugar begins to turn amber in color.  When desired color is achieved turn off heat and whisk in the heavy cream

Transfer caramel to a heat proof bowl and allow to cool until ready to use

Store in refrigerator – microwave for a few seconds if caramel becomes too cold to handle

White Chocolate Cream

2 cups                    heavy Cream

8 oz                         white chocolate

¼ cup                     grand marnier liqueur (optional)

1 tsp                       fresh grated orange zest


In a clean heavy saucepan combine 1 cup  cream, orange zest and liqueur – bring to a boil

Remove from heat and stir in white chocolate – mix until chocolate is completely melted and mixture

Is smooth

Stir in remaining cream

Sauce may be served warm or cold

The cream can be whipped for a lighter topping – but

Store in refrigerator – microwave for a few seconds if caramel becomes too cold to handle

Bulls players celebrate the holidays with local families – and Eli’s Cheesecake!

bullsEli’s Cheesecake served at Bulls community event on December 14th. Chicago Bulls players shared dinner with families from the local community, including slices of Eli’s for dessert! The goal of the event was to “encourage families to feel uplifted during the strenuous holiday season,” and Eli’s was proud to help oubullsnoaht!

Eli’s People Delighted to Support Starbucks Holiday Angels Toy Drive

At Eli’s Cheesecake, we look forward to supporting our community in every way possible. This Holiday Season, we were delighted to support our great customer, Starbucks, and its Holiday Angels Joy Drive, to support the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation.

Our good friend at Starbucks, District Manager, for the Magnificent Mile neighborhood Starbucks stores, solicited our support and our people responded magnificently donating over 50 unwrapped toys to support the Joy Drive.

It is a great honor for us to have customers who share our concerns for the community and, with whom we can work together with, to bring joy to children for the holidays.
