The original version of this creamy Italian dessert was so popular with English visitors in 19th-century Florence that it was dubbed zuppa inglese, or “English soup.” A similar dessert was reintroduced as tiramisù, which translates as “pick-me-up”—and it certainly lifts the spirits! Made by Eli’s Cheesecake Co. in Chicago, ours is formed from layers of espresso-infused sponge cake, mascarpone and cream cheese, then topped with a dusting of cocoa. Shipped frozen. 4 lb., 9″ diam.; serves 12 to 14. A Williams-Sonoma exclusive.

At Eli’s, we are very proud of our long term partnerships. One of our longest

catalogs for cooks. Over the years, we have expanded from one item to three and
