Chicago Native Joe Mantegna received his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame located next to that of his boyhood idol, Errol Flynn. Mantegna received his star in the category of live theater which is where Mantegna’s career started. Mantegna won a Tony Award in 1984 for best featured actor in a play for his performance as cynical real estate agent Richard Roma in playwright David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Glengarry Glen Ross.” Mantegna helped write the play “Bleacher Bums” and was among the stars of its original production. Mantegna has starred on the CBS crime drama “Criminal Minds” since 2007. He also has a recurring role on the Fox animated comedy “The Simpsons” as the mobster Fat Tony. Mantegna’s other television series credits include “Joan of Arcadia” and the Supreme Court drama “First Monday.” Mantegna has notched three Emmy nominations, for his work in the made-for-television movies or miniseries “The Last Don,” “The Rat Pack” and “The Starter Wife.”Mantegna made his feature film debut in 1985 in “Compromising Positions”  and starred in the critically acclaimed Mamet films “House of Games” and “Things Change.”Mantegna’s other film credits include “Alice,” “Celebrity,”  “The Godfather Part II,” and “Baby’s Day Out.”

Following the Hollywood Walk Hall of Fame Ceremony, there was a party at the Kress Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard sponsored by the Elysian Hotel and others, including Eli’s Cheesecake. Eli’s was represented at the party by long time friend and now LA Attorney, Gena Simon.

For the party, Eli’ created a dark chocolate Eli’s Cheesecake, decorated with an edible gold copy of his star.
