Eli’s is looking forward to welcoming the 2009 Michigan Apple Queen to the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival

Eli’s is looking forward to welcoming the 2009 Michigan Apple Queen, Amber Nyblad, to the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival on Saturday, October 3rd.

The Michigan Apple Committee graciously sponsors the Culinary Pavilion for the Festival and Piedt Farms of Eau Claire, Michigan will be bringing an assortment of Michigan Apples to the Festival.

12th Annual Eli’s Cheesecake Festival Welcomes Laura Dietrich, 2008 Michigan Apple Queen

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One of our greatest supporters for the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival
is the Michigan Apple Committee and the Michigan Apple Queen, We are honored
this year that Laura Dietrich, the 2008 Michigan Apple Queen will be attending
the Festival and that the Michigan Apple Committee is again sponsoring our
Culinary Pavilion.

Laura Dietrich, the 2008 Michigan Apple Queen, is from Conklin,
Michigan. The daughter of fifth generation apple growers, Alvin and Helen
Dietrich, the Queen serves as an ambassador for the state’s apple industry
making appearances at festivals and fairs throughout the year. Selected in
December of 2007, Dietrich has visited many schools to read books about apples,
judged the National Pie Festival, and participated in the Blossom Time Parade,
the Frankenmuth Festival and the National Cherry Festival in Traverse
City.

Watch for the Michigan Apple Queen to accompany Eli’s Executive
Pastry Chef, Laurel Boger, to do a demonstration live on NBC 5 Chicago at 6am on
Saturday, September 20th. Later that day, the Queen will assist Michigan Apple
Chef Diane Smith with a demonstration at 12:45pm on Saturday and again at
2:45pm, Sunday, September 21st at the Michigan Apple Culinary
Pavilion.

Michigan Apple Queen Pauline Wendzel to attend the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival; Michigan Apple Committee to sponsor the Culinary Pavillion

All of us at Eli’s Cheesecake are delighted to again partner with the great people from the Michigan Apple Committee. Eli’s is a proud user of Michigan Apples and we look forward to sharing cheesecake and other recipes using Michigan Apples.

We are honored that the 2007 Michigan Apple Queeen, Pauline Wendzel, will be attending the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival on Saturday, September 15th. Wendzel’s great-grandfather, grandfather and father have been involved in all aspects of the apple industry as growers,
packers and processors.

Eli’s Cheesecake Delighted to Welcome the Michigan Apple Queen to the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival

We are delighted to welcome the Michigan Apple Commission back as sponsor of our Culinary Tent for the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival. Last year, the Michigan Apple was a great partner and we shared with them our dream to have the Michigan Apple Queen at the Festival.

Our dream came true as Paula Fisher of Berrien Springs, the Michigan Apple Queen for 2005, will be at the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival on Saturday greeting guests and sharing the great story of Michigan Apples.

Michigan Apple Queen Looks to September
Activities
Michigan Apple Queen Paula Fisher of Berrien Springs was joined by first runner-up Emily Westendorp of Dowagiac, and second runner-up Ashley Wright of Belding at the National Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven. The National Coast Guard Festival was one of many events that Fisher and her court attended throughout Michigan this summer.

Michigan Apple royalty were awarded “Best Overall Entry” at the National Coast Guard Festival for the Michigan apple industry float, which has been designed in a Fairy Tale theme by 2003 Michigan Apple Queen, Janna Klein.

Upcoming events for the Michigan Apple Queen include the Eli’s Cheesecake Festival in Chicago and various parades.
