YPC’s E3 (Evening Entrepreneurial Event) events give members a chance to not only learn some of the best practices from relevant business leaders, but also the opportunity to interact with these
vibrant individuals and get personal advice on what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

Jeff Wilcoxon – Bobtail Ice Cream Company
Founders Jeff Wilcoxon and Chris Hill established Bobtail Ice Cream Company in 2004 after participating in the Edward L. Kaplan New Venture Challenge, an annual business plan competition at the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. Since 2004, the Bobtail team has opened five
additional locations throughout Chicago, including the company’s first suburban location in Wilmette, IL. Jeff and Chris were inspired to create Bobtail by Grandpa Wilcoxon who, beginning in 1950, sold ice cream from a tiny factory and door-to-door from a truck to his neighbors in Bexley, Ohio. He believed in ringing doorbells, knowing customers by name and staking his reputation on a
quality product.

Brian Taylor – Kernel Seasons
Kernel Season’s began in Brian’s college dorm room at the University of Michigan. He made popcorn every night and created his own personal spice blends to toss into it. Friends and fellow students loved it. With money he had saved selling knives and teaching tennis, Brian Taylor hired a team of flavor specialists to create the 14 types of all-natural popcorn seasonings his company now offers. The
seasonings are currently in three-quarters of movie theaters and 70 percent of grocery stores nationwide.

Marc Schulman – Eli’s Cheesecake Company
Marc Schulman is the president of Eli’s Cheesecake Company. Marc’s father Eli entered the restaurant business in 1940 on Chicago’s west side and opened Eli’s the Place for Steak on the Northwestern Chicago campus in 1966. Eli Schulman developed the cheesecake recipe as the signature dessert for his
restaurant. It was in 1980 at the first Taste of Chicago that sales were made outside the restaurant. Marc took over the family business in 1984 and has continued his father’s committment to the community. Schulman is a graduate of Northwestern University Law School and the University of Denver.
